C630 Aluminum Bronze
C630 Aluminum Bronze Nuts, Bolts, and Custom Manufactured Components
Atlanta Rod & Manufacturing Inc. manufactures custom fasteners, anchor bolts, embeds, headed bolts and hot forged nuts. We have been forging bolts and nuts to customer specifications since 1981. We forge bolts ranging from 3/8″ to 2 1/4″ and nuts from 3/8” to 4”.
Our inventory consists of stainless, carbon, and alloy metals, and exotic materials which are housed in our 100,000 square foot warehouse. All of our inventory is ready for immediate manufacturing. We are committed to fast turnaround times and creating high-quality fasteners at competitive prices.
Corrosion Resistant and Strong
C630 is commonly referred to as aluminum nickel bronze because it is an alloy with inherent bronze properties. These types of metals are highly regarded for their strength and corrosion resistance when compared to other bronze alloys. Aluminum bronze is valued for its resistance to corrosion from seawater, and it is often used in marine construction in place of other metals that would quickly corrode. It does not allow for marine organisms, like barnacles and algae, to inhabit it and proliferate.
This metal also shows a high resistance to tarnishing and corrosion in atmospheric conditions. It oxidizes at a low rate and is mildly reactive to sulfur and other combustion exhaust byproducts. It is a metal made specifically for applications like heavy loads, friction, and abrasive corrosion. The added nickel makes the alloy considerably stronger without affecting its ductility, toughness, and resistance to wear.
Aluminum Bronze C630 Uses and Specifications
The C630 Aluminum Nickel Bronze Rod is made from high levels of aluminum and nickel. This gives it a high strength rating. Its natural bronze properties make it resistant to corrosion and heavy wear. Because of its high strength, it is appropriate for heavy-load use in pup-shafts, hydraulic systems, and pistons. It is also commonly used in heat exchangers, aircraft parts, desalting units, and cam bearing. It offers excellent performance in applications where traditional aluminum bronze is not strong enough. It can be fabricated in the following ways:
- Gas Shielded Arc Welding
- Coated Metal Arc Welding
- Spot Welding
- Seam Welding
- Butt Welding
- Hot Forming
It is not recommended for Oxyacetylene welding or soldering. It has a forgeability rating of 75 and a machinability rating of 30. It is a type 1 ATSM B150. The standard diameter for the C630 Aluminum Nickel Bronze Rod ranges from 3/8″ to 10″. It has an ultimate tensile strength of 85,000 psi and a Brinell hardness of 170. Aluminum Bronze 630 comes in bars, rods, and shapes.
