Specifications

The ASTM A193 specification covers bars, bolts, screws, studs, stud bolts, and wire. The material may be further processed by centerless grinding or by cold drawing. Below are some of the ASTM A193 grades used commonly by Atlanta Rod.

A193 Bolts
  1. ASTM A193 B7:
    • Alloy steel, AISI 4140 or 4142, quenched and tempered
  2. ASTM A193 B6:
    • Stainless steel, AISI 410, heat treated
  3. ASTM A193 B8:
    • Class 1 Stainless steel, AISI 304, carbide solution treated
  4. ASTM A193 B8M:
    • Class 1 Stainless steel, AISI 316, carbide solution treated
  5. ASTM A193 B8 Class 2:
    • Stainless steel, AISI 304, carbide solution treated, strain hardened
  6. ASTM A193 B8M Class 2:
    • Stainless steel, AISI 316, carbide solution treated, strain hardened
  7. ASTM A193 B8T:
    • Class 1 or 2 Stainless steel, AISI 321, with additional element of Titanium
  8. ASTM A193 B16:
    • Chromium-Molybdenum-Vanadium, similar to B7 with Vanadium added
  9. ASTM A193 B7M:
    • Similar properties as B7 but with specialized heat treating to create differing mechanical properties
  10. ASTM A193 B8R:
    • Stainless steel, AISI 209, also known as Nitronic 50, nitrogen strengthened
  11. ASTM A193 B8S:
    • Stainless Steel, AISI 218, also known as Nitronic 60, nitrogen strengthened
