Hex Bolts

Hex Bolt manufactured by Atlanta Rod

Atlanta Rod & Manufacturing is an established American manufacturer of standard finished domestic hex bolts, heavy structural fasteners, and custom metric fasteners. Produced directly at our Lavonia, Georgia plant, our domestic fasteners are built for contractors, steel fabricators, and OEMs needing certified Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act and American Iron and Steel (AIS) compliance. Every shipment is accompanied by complete certified domestic Mill Test Reports (MTRs) documenting melt and manufacturing origin in the USA.

Domestic Bolts & Georgia Construction Fasteners Manufacturing

As a leading producer of Georgia construction fasteners and nationwide infrastructure hardware, Atlanta Rod manufactures standard finished hex bolts engineered to tight dimensional and metallurgical tolerances. Hex bolts feature a hexagonal head designed to be driven with a standard wrench or socket. Ideal for steel framing, timber construction, precast concrete connections, and equipment fabrication, our domestic manufacturing spans diameters from 3/8” to 4” in both imperial and metric configurations.

Hex Bolt Dimensions, Thread Pitch & ASME B18.2.1 Specifications

Finished hex bolts are manufactured in strict compliance with ASME B18.2.1. Compared to heavy hex profiles, standard hex bolts have slightly narrower head widths across flats, making them suitable for standard clearance applications where space and weight constraints require a compact fastener head. For oversized bearing area applications, view our heavy hex bolt dimensions and spec tables.

ASTM A307 Specifications & Precision Rolled Threads

Atlanta Rod manufactures standard hex bolts conforming to ASTM A307 specifications:

  • ASTM A307 Grade A: General purpose carbon steel bolts, studs, and threaded rods with a minimum tensile strength of 60,000 psi (414 MPa), widely specified for light structural joints and mechanical assemblies.
  • ASTM A307 Grade B: Heavy hex and finished hex bolts for piping flanges and cast iron applications with tensile strength ranging from 60,000 to 100,000 psi.
  • Precision Rolled Threads: Our in-house manufacturing utilizes continuous die thread rolling rather than cut threading. Rolled threads preserve the unbroken metallurgical grain structure of the steel bar stock, yielding superior burnished surface finishes, improved fatigue life, and high resistance to thread stripping under load.
